Sopheap and Chieh’s Wedding.
May 14th, 2012 § Leave a Comment
Yes, it has been a long time, my fans. My full-time job has eaten up most of my time. On top of that, I’ve been doing a lot of training for an upcoming 5k. Nonetheless, I’ve found time to bake for a dear friend of mine. Sopheap and I went to high school together and when she asked me to cater desserts for her wedding, I couldn’t say no. After all, it is quite an honor to bake for her, considering the fact that she used to work at one of SF’s most popular bake shops.
Here is a snapshot I took with my phone. Professional shots from BLLEW PHOTOGRAPHY to come.

Hello all,
Please be advised that I will be away from 3-28 to 4-12 as I will be going to historic China with my significant other and my parents. We will be visiting family and friends as well as get inspiration for some dessert items from the far east.

Happy Birthday Hopie and Kirs!

The ever-so-creative and stylish gals from Step Heavvy asked if I would make some customized desserts for a joint birthday celebration…theme? “Photo booth/ice cream parlor/anti-Valentine’s Day” for female emcee, Hopie Spitshard and photographer, Kirstina Sangsahachart. Personally, I love theme parties, so I agreed and made something special for these ladies!
The handmade props are 100% edible and was super fun to make/shape! Gen couldn’t resist but to play with them once they’ve arrived.

Pre-Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt

Last month, Ryan from Pika Pika contacted me about catering to a Pre-Vday Scavenger Hunt. I’ve always loved Pika Pika…their unique photobooth (PURIKURA) machines are oh-so-fun and really gets your creative juices flowing–it makes you feel like you’re actually in Japan!
Check it out! www.pikapikasf.com
So, the scavenger hunt missions included everything from guessing riddles to unscrambling words to reveal secret love notes to finding various items in stores within Japantown! Here is the one for Dolci Bar:
“Dolci Bar might have the special sweet
That will Sweep Ryan’s Valentine off her feet!
Go and see Michelle from Dolci Bar at Pika Pika
Write down all the flavors of her little goodies and circle which flavor you think is the winner!”
I wish I actually participated in the scavenger hunt! Looked like everyone was having a ton of fun! Next year…

New Year, New Flavors!
February 1st, 2011 § Leave a Comment
As many of you know, I am an advocate for fresh, local ingredients and try to use only the best produce to create my desserts. Since there aren’t many fruits that are “in season” for the month of February–with the exception of apples and bananas, they are in season all year long, plus Malaga grapes and California grapes; roughly November through March–I’ve decided to get rich scents from other places…teas! I’ve always loved drinking tea and I think it is an interesting ingredient seldom found in baking. The Chai Tea and Honey Cupcakes were a success and don’t worry, they’re here to stay!
Be in the look out for these tea-infused cupcakes:
Earl Grey Tea
Jasmine Tea
Thai Tea
Brown Rice Tea
Red Tea
Green Tea
Black Sesame
